For parents of kids with Down syndrome who are interested in maintaining
contact with other parents but don't wish to attend meetings or commit time (or even for those who wish to
remain anonymous!), visit http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/dspconnect/, a newly forming Yahoo Group* called DS Parent Connections
of Charlottesville. This is a community of parents and parents-to-be of children diagnosed with Down Syndrome who live
in Charlottesville, VA and surrounding areas.
The group is intended as a way for parents to share useful information and resources, ask questions, help each other navigate
through public services, provide updates on relevant legislation, and meet other parents.
We welcome parents of all
ages to join, understanding that issues and topics of interest may vary as children grow older, and in the hopes that our
discussions will include a range of perspectives and experiences. *A Yahoo Group is basically a listserv that you can
join in order to receive emails from other members. This costs nothing (getting a yahoo i.d. is free). You do
not have to join to view the webpage, but you do in order to post messages to others or to receive replies. For
